Growing up in a small town, I always loved people. In 2011, after months of contemplating and soul-searching, I transitioned my career from Financial Services to Recruiting. It wasn’t an easy decision. I was afraid of the unknown and the challenges ahead. Luckily, I had incredible mentors who guided me through my journey and followed my heart. I am forever grateful for their help; and I do my best to pay it forward to others, especially to the candidates I work with.

 

More than a decade later, I’m more passionate about recruiting than ever before. Hearing from candidates who love their jobs always gives me the greatest joy and reinforces my passion for what I do. In contrast, I often lose sleep and wonder what I could have done better after an exit interview.

 

Through trial and error, I’ve learned the importance of assessing a candidate’s fit for a role beyond their resume. Uncovering their stories, passions, motivations, and values before evaluating their competencies and key achievements is a crucial practice of mine.

 

Having interviewed thousands of professionals and leading high-performance recruitment teams in the High-Tech Industry has helped me gain deep insights into recruiting top talent.  My passion and expertise have helped me establish a large network of top-quality candidates, particularly in leadership and sales positions in the global market. 

 

With a genuine desire to help people find their dream jobs, I founded The Talent Center. I believe that every individual deserves a fulfilling career; I’m committed to delivering the best results to both our candidates and clients.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and son. I believe in giving back and have held various non-profit volunteering positions over the years. Oh, I have really wide feet and proudly tell my husband that my "duck feet" actually help me swim fast.

I was born a tinkerer, dismantling toys, alarm clocks, etc., and then putting them back together. I wanted to understand how they worked, and how they could then work better.

 

Decades later, I was fortunate. I found great outlets for my love of tinkering and optimizing things by working in Canadian technology and software. I loved selling genuine "easier, faster, and better" software automation tools. I have been a top-performing individual contributor and then led sales teams for 3 tech companies to their successful acquisitions, having been awarded best-in-class YoY growth, capital efficiency, and customer retention.

 

Our internal conversations sounded very much like yours today:

  • How do we hire at scale in economic uncertainty and demands for remote working options? How do we then find great people that will be completely accountable (even in a remote setting)?

  • Can this leader execute/enhance our proven selling model?

  • How do we hire another AE like ___? They're carrying 30% of the team's target!

  • The candidate is a fantastic match in experience/requirements but what tools can we use to understand their intangibles aka the ability to synergize with the team?

 

These important discussions and more are why I partnered with Sherry to create a trusted center for top-shelf talent. Today I have the wonderful privilege to focus on client-employer conversations to find easier, faster, and better ways to onboard great hires and cut turnover costs in half.

 

Outside of work, I am with my significant other food touring locally and around the world. In the colder months, we're snuggling at home with our dog and two cats.
